Cartoon Network Invaded was a special crossover event that aired on Cartoon Network in the United States from May 4th, 2007 through May 28th, 2007 (which was Memorial Day of 2007). This was a special event about a continuing storyline of an alien invasion which ran through five different episodes that were special episodes of five CN Original Series: Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd n Eddy, My Gym Partner’s a Monkey, Camp Lazlo, and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. According to

As the sole designer on the project, I had the honor of creating the entire branding around the project, including an interactive, flash-based animated website. Picture this - visitors would roll over the different show logos, and the world would rotate around, revealing a new set of characters under the UFO's beam. Pretty cool.

I also cooked up these seriously cool posters to hype up the event. These bad boys were aired as bumpers on Cartoon Network and were even available as prints in the Cartoon Network store.

Each poster had its own unique vibe, reflecting the style and theme of the original series it represented. The goal was to create something scary, but not too scary, with a bit of a Twilight Zone twist to them.

I employed authentic assets from the show and selected fitting colors to give each design a distinctive take on fear. The silhouette design, with the emphasis on the characters' eyes, made for a simple and consistent look across all pieces.

And guess what? All that hard work paid off big time. Cartoon Network Invaded was a crossover success, engaging audiences across shows, and generating major buzz at the time. The interactive website and eye-catching posters I had the pleasure of designing played a huge part in building excitement and getting kids and adults alike hyped for the crossover event.

So there you have it - the details behind one of the most unique and unforgettable crossover events in Cartoon Network history. It goes to show that when you mix epic storytelling and inspired design, you can create something out of this world.
